excuse me for this post, but i need to say that i was wrong. although with the annoying anachronisms and hip-hop music with bad english lyrics i thought samurai champloo was going to be silly (not to mention the translation of the title), or at best, just a series which was something to pass the time with, it was not. it had a sensible storyline and managed to be amusing without being slapstick. and even at the parts where it was deliberately silly like the baseball episode which was just out of point it was actually funny. maybe there will be a time when i compromise and watch something dumb, but it is not this time. unfortunately there were only 26 episodes and no second series and no ova, because it really was pretty nice to watch, and because now i have to figure out whether fuu likes mugen or jin though it looked like she likes mugen but then she never really actually said it and i think she should like jin instead because he is such a gentleman and fights better and has much more situational awareness than mugen does. i am acutely aware of the fact that these people are not real, this time. but i really did like this series, enough to watch it again. posted by gruff at 9:15 PM --------------------------------------------------------------------------
