i really thought the days of screwed up internet in school were over. but lo and behold on wednesday in clt my connection was suddenly chopped off. and the chopping continued for the next hour or so, which was highly annoying, not least because i was trying to load my samurai deeper kyo episode 21! which brings us to the next annoying thing, which is the ending of samurai deeper kyo. against my better judgment last week i decided to start watching this series despite its having an English name that doesn't make sense. i decided to do this partly because i was bored, and partly because the art was nice and it is very seldom that you find nice art in an anime with an English name that doesn't make sense. usually you just get things like pokemon. so anyway, throughout the week i loaded my way through 25 episodes and finally reached episode 26 a.k.a. The Final Episode yesterday. in which the producers very creatively decided to NOT let viewers know who won the last battle after building up the suspense over 25 episodes. argh. i checked my japanese dictionary and it didn't have a word for anti-climax. i guess that explains the very annoying ending. but me, being ever-optimistic, will continue to believe that it was the good samurai who won, because everybody knows good always triumphs over evil. somehow i feel like writing this is an exercise in futility because everyone, having denounced my indulgence in anime, doesn't care and will not be able to empathise. posted by gruff at 11:14 AM --------------------------------------------------------------------------
