dear mr hart. i do agree with you that there is only a contingent connection between law and morality, and i do find your claim for a rule of recognition very plausible. i also think your insights are quite interesting. i must admit you are a very clever man. however, i don't suppose you'd imagined the pain and trauma that you would be causing me, more than a decade after and half the world away. i'm sure if you'd realised the potential devastation your brilliance could cause, you'd have used simpler english and easier examples, categorised your arguments under headings and told people to shut up if they weren't happy. or maybe you could have made your case in a top secret place, to select individuals only, so it wouldn't fall into the hands of people like me with primitive, underdeveloped brains. unfortunately you didn't anticipate this state of affairs, and i now have to wade through the complexities of your intellectual mind despite my severe inadequacy. thanks for the enlightenment, no thanks for the pain. yours truly, me. and to top it off, this afternoon, i was 300(c)-ed with a knife through my heart. thanks for the love, spanner. posted by gruff at 9:53 PM --------------------------------------------------------------------------
